Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)
IFS, also called Internal Family Systems or parts work, is based on the idea that there are parts of us that carry pain from the past and other parts that protect those parts. It is an empowering style of therapy that teaches you how to respond to yourself with compassion and meet your own unmet needs with love and understanding. This method attempts to make sense of how we think, feel, and behave rather than looking for what might be "wrong" with us, and is based upon the idea that we all have the capacity inside for health and healing. This method is also effective for trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and emotional overwhelm.
